Marte Tryggestad
- Position: Interface Design Engineer, Telenor Enterprise Contractor
- Company: Telenor Business Norway
- Location: Oslo, Norway
What kind of background do you have?
Telenor hired me after I completed my Master of Science in Communication Technology at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Do you get relevant assignments as a newcomer?
Most definitely! I am really pleased with the tasks I have had. I mostly take part in large and complex off-site projects, and I get to put theory into practice. We use the latest technology to meet our customers’ needs.
Do you have an example?
Sure. Right now, I am working on a project where we are designing the information and communication infrastructure for a new hospital. It will be one of the most high-tech and modern hospitals in Europe. We are responsible for the entire IT infrastructure including the medical systems as well as an entertainment portal for patients. The entertainment system provides patients with functionality that enables them to chat with family and friends, watch movies, play games and surf the internet - all from their hospital bed. Isn’t that cool?
So you don’t get tired of working on one single project?
No, I never get bored of my job. I do such a lot of different and interesting tasks. I know that if I reach a point where I feel that I need to work on something else, there are plenty of other opportunities on offer.
One of the great advantages with Telenor is its size and diversity, and I can easily try something new.
